Number 16: Sound of Silver

The cover of Sound of Silver

The first electronic album on this list is another example of why 2007 was great for media. While the first LCD Soundsystem album was great, Sound of Silver blows it out of the water, being both shorter and having better songs, although the songs in this album are still pretty long, all but two being over 5 minutes in length, but in a way where it uses its length to its advantage instead of just going on and on without anything really changing or improving, such as with Us V Them being 8 and a half minutes long but still managing to keep your attention and being a massive jam. Someone Great and All My Friends are in a similar boat, being pretty lengthy but using their time well, with the former being pretty somber for a Dance-Punk/Electronic song but still being a fantastic song. The best track would have to go to New York I Love You, But You're Bringing Me Down, I can't exactly describe WHY I love it so much but it strikes the right notes for me, with the first few minutes being chill and melancholic, followed by the build up into both the drums intensifying and the guitar solo, followed by it going back to being chill, the lyrics painting a great picture of a city I've never even visited, and the way Murphy just belts it out, especially once it picks up near the aformentioned guitar solo, it's just... fantastic, one of my all time favorite songs.
