Next up is a band I've seen play live (and they were fantastic, do it when you get the chance, just bring earplugs), Silversun Pickups' Carnavas is one of the best debut albums to ever come out, maintaining the dreamlike feel of shoegaze with hard hitting riffs and vocals, just an all around amazing album that I constantly revist and rediscover, just hearing the first few seconds of their tracks is enough to get me excited and wanting to continue listening, particularly with Well Thought Out Twinkles, Little Lover's So Polite, and Lazy Eye, with the latter in particular being a highlight just for the middle of the song where the distortion and effects get intensified into just this wall of sound, and it's absolutely incredible with headphones on, especially cranked up (reasonably) loud. The vocals especially make these songs, special mention to Checkered Floor and especially Future Foe Scenarios, Brian doesn't holler particularly often but when he does he kills it every time, another good example (albeit not from this album) being in Panic Switch. Just a fantastic album that I wish I could listen to for the first time all over again, can't get enough of it whenever I listen to it.
What I'm saying is that if you decide to listen to any album from this list, try and make it this one, okay? :3
