Why "Inkling Studios"?

A question that probably nobody has asked is "why the name Inkling Studios", or rather, "Inkling Studios Project" is used to refer to just about everything I do, and for that matter, why I named myself "Bakartridge" in the first place. It's both a bit complicated and kinda simple at the same time, I initially started this whole thing (as in, making content for the internet thing) back in November 2015 because I was bored one day and wanted to make something in my free time, and since it was late 2015, I made Splatoon fanfics, because I was absolutely obsessed with that game around that time. I actually didn't come up with the Inkling Studios name for a few months, I used a different handle (was something MLP related but I forgot, I was unfortunately a brony as a kid >.>). I figured that since I made Splatoon stuff, I should name myself after it, hence Inkling Studios, I wanted a name that sounded good, I actually thought about Inkling Productions for a bit, but went with Studios because "studios" sounds better than "productions". :P

Admittedly though, it sorta didn't mean anything as I focused more on making Pokemon content as I got really into THAT in 2016, I did Splatoon stuff alongside it but Pokemon was the bigger priority, and I quit making Splatoon content overall in 2018, so it really kinda was just a meaningless name, I thought about properly renaming myself for a while but both couldn't really be assed to and didn't think of a better name anyways. Why "Bakartridge" either?

Felt like changing up my online appearance in mid-2021 as it was both when I initially first moved back to America and was after I graduated, so figured it was a good time to sorta reinvent myself, so I dropped the Inkling Studios name as my main handle and came up with Bakartridge as a replacement name. I wanted something with "Baka" in my name both as a reference to me spending a good chunk of my life being in Japan and because it's a funny word. Since retro stuff is one of my main things too (especially retro games, mainly on the NES), I combined it with another word, Cartridge, to get Bakartridge. Since I didn't just wanna ditch the Inkling Studios name entirely (bc it was what people knew me as and bc I couldn't change names on a lot of profiles I had), I designated it to being my 'project', or rather just anything I do that I put online, I don't have a better name for it and I've been using it for years so I'm sticking with it regardless, but it at least gives a good divider between my personal stuff (using the Bakartridge name) and any creative stuff I do (using the Inkling Studios name), like on Bluesky or any art sites where I still use the Inkling Studios name.
