Number 7: Turn On The Bright Lights

The cover of TOTBL

Yet another debut album, this album is special, it's the first in a while on this list that I did a drawing for, but I made a full on image series for it, making a drawing based off each song in the album, this album means THAT much to me. Admittedly this album took a little bit to grow on me but when it did, MAN did it become one of my all time favorite albums, it's not so much of a "rocker" album barring some songs like PDA, Roland, and Say Hello to the Angels, but this is one of the absolute best indie rock albums, just in general, each song is damn near perfect on its own, even the "weakest" song on the album, Hands Away being absolutely incredible, the album is of perfect length too, not overstaying its welcome while not being so short that it just kind of goes by without you really realizing and just left wanting more when there isn't any. The absolute best songs to just chill and relax to would have to be Untitled and NYC, with the best track on the album being The New, the part near the end where the guitar downtunes while the bass is playing that riff is one of the best parts in any song I've listened to, and it's a shame that Interpol's other albums don't come close to being as good as this one. They're still great albums at the end of the day, but man, nothing else compares to this album, one of the absolute greatest albums I've listened to, been tempted to get it on vinyl even though I don't own a player for it, would kill to see Interpol perform this album live, if not just songs from it.
