FWA 2026: Day 1

So FINALLY, after months of waiting, it was finally May 7th, I had to wake up early to pick Oscar up from the airport since his flight arrived at like 10:20 AM, even if I only really had to be there at 11 AM so he could go through security and getting his bags and everything. Woke up at around 7:15 AM and left the house around 8:45 or 9 AM, first stopping by a gas station to pick up some coffee and put a little bit of gas in my car (since I had only about half a tank, filled it to about 3/4 since Oscar said he'd help out with paying, but didn't wanna get up to Atlanta and only have 1/4 a tank left), plus picked up a Bluey plush they had there for one of the panels I was REALLY looking forward to attending. My original plan was to bring one of my Pokemon plushes from home but uh, I forgot to so I just picked that up as a last resort. So afterwards, set my phone's GPS to the airport and started heading up the road, ofc with music playing. Although on the way up there, some parts of GA were raining REALLY FUCKING HARD, enough so that it was basically like driving through fog at some parts. I felt like it would've rained since the previous night it was raining, and it was cloudy when I had left my home.

But after about an hour and a half of driving (and dealing with some traffic on the way up there), I had finally met up with Oscar at the airport and picked him up, driving to the hotel afterwards. Then we got ready, and headed to the Courtland Grand to register, although I ran into some problems with my suit since I could barely see out the damn thing at the time (this will be relevant later), I even had to use my phone's camera to act as a magnifying glass, although it stopped being useful for that AFTER I left out of the building after registering since it was damn near impossible to see my screen. But either way, we first checked out the game room, before we decided to get something to eat since neither of us had really eaten that day, so we went to that Peachtree center and got some food, specifically we went to a Korean place inside there that had some pretty damn good food. Admittedly the first day for me after that got kinda blurry, but I explored the Mariott and the Hyatt nearby afterwards too, even ran into some suiters I knew, which I ofc got pics with. :P

Suiter is Soju!

Admittedly only attended one panel that day, was one for furs who were already GA residents, though basically nothing happened, I mainly just sat in the back and played games on my PSP while the thing went on, before I decided to head back to my hotel room, since there wasn't much to do on the first day, since most of the "fun" things were happening the next day, like for starters, the Dealer's Den wasn't open yet, since all the vendors were still getting ready and whatnot, though more importantly for me, my suit was literally falling apart, specifically the hair for it, since whenever it moved or jostled a bit the stiches would either come apart or come loose, so when I was in my hotel room I spent a good amount of time just directly stitching the hair onto the suit, which both helped a TON with making it feel more secure/stable, and with making it look better. I also didn't realize it till the next day, but seeing out of it was WAY easier than it was previously, I think because some of the hair had gotten out of the way of the eyes, along with just kinda like... figuring out how to wear it too, since I think I put the straps for the head a bit too high on my head when fitting it on, but hey, it both felt and looked better now, so that's what really mattered. :P

Also, Oscar found a place nearby that had some pretty good ice cream, they had Banana Pudding as a flavor which is what I got and it was good, though I forgot what flavor he had gotten.

Some more pics and vids I had recorded: A suiter I met in the game room, Someone who asked to take a picture with me in the GA Furs panel, Oscar slapping a sticker on a pole
