FWA 2026

Holy crap, okay, knew I couldn't just post all of this to my Tumblr or whatever so HAD to make it into an editorial. Plus it's been a minute since I last made one so figure this would be an appropriate thing to make into an editorial. Splitting this per day so I can go more in-depth so I don't either put everything into one massive page or just having to condense everything to fit. For some context, I had mentioned earlier this year that I was planning on attending FWA this year after having made my suit, especially since it would give an excuse for me and my best friend (who I've been talking to since 2022, and we've known each other before then, I'll refer to him as Oscar from now on) to meet up for the first time like ever. I had plenty of money saved up beforehand so going wouldn't be that big of an issue, though I still would've preferred to have a job beforehand anyways so I could make any money that I spent back, since y'know, conventions aren't cheap. But me and Oscar got our tickets in February, since they were discounted from $120 to $100, and we got a hotel shortly afterwards too. Our initial plan was to book the Marriott, since that's the hotel the con "mainly" takes place in because they're split between like 3 or 4 hotels in downtown Atlanta, but it was fully taken, so we had to take the Aloft, which is about a 5-7 minute walk but was the cheapest of all of them. While I obv didn't have to (since I live in GA, I don't live in Atlanta though), Oscar also bought a plane ticket to Atlanta since he's from New England, and that's like a 10 hour drive and obv didn't wanna put him through that. :P
The two of us were obviously excited but we couldn't do anything but wait for the time to come, and hopefully for me to get a job between February and May when the con started, which I thankfully got in early April, so I could still have some more money in my account prior to the event starting (plus my parents said ahead of time they'd send some money too so props to them), so for the meantime, we just had to wait until...
